I came across this inspirational quote while reading this blog post about insecurity. This quote

If you hear a voice within you say “you cannot paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.

struck a chord within me and I had to make it into a t-shirt.

Vincent van Gogh, of course, is one of the most famous painters of all time and his art has delighted generations. True to his inspirational quote, van Gogh was prolific. In an art career spanning less than a decade, he created around 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings. His work has been sold for tens of millions of dollars yet is priceless.

This motivational quote isn’t just about painting. It applies to anything that requires creativity, anything that requires us to put ourselves “out there,” anything that erodes our self-confidence. When in doubt, we should try anyway. And if our first attempt fails, try again. And again – and we might just surprise ourselves. Go ahead and create art.

This quote is a gentle reminder to be patient. Don’t just focus on the end goal, but be mindful of the process, the journey to get there. Goals are achieved by a series of little choices that add up. If a project seems overwhelming, break it up into small, achievable chunks. And, while a single drop won’t fill the jug, many of these drops will eventually get there. Take consistent action and persevere.

I am pleased to offer Clingspiration’s first inspirational quote design. As seen on the image above, the quote reads

Be strong when you are weak, brave when you are scared, and humble when you are victorious.

This is my favorite inspirational quote, so I had to put it on a shirt/poster. When I’m feeling down or scared, these are the words I try to repeat to myself. The paradoxical prose reminds us that it’s not when life is swell that we need to be strong. Rather, we need our strength precisely at those moments we feel powerless. By digging deep and facing our fears we can achieve victory. And when we succeed, we mustn’t forget our past trials, and be understanding of those who continue to struggle.

I searched, but couldn’t find who said this inspirational quote. If anyone knows, please let me know in the comments!
